Established in 1950s, this University is a renowned name in US. It is ranked as one of the fastest rising university. They have three colleges under its name which offers a wide range of academic and research subject. Currently home to 20K+students and 1.1k institutional faculty, they provide almost 200 degree & Phd courses.
As the campus is spread in 1200 acres, it was difficult for the visitors/students to locate what they are looking for.
Communicating all the information which University wants users to know through physical or non- interactive digital kiosk was not easy.
Enquiry & feedback were handled manually because of which there was no track and hence no improvement on the communication between students, faculty and other admin staff.
Apart from physical banners/notice boards/social media handlings, they didnt have any reliable medium to give details and update about admission, campus, examination, faculty info, nearby places detailed info in/outside the centre. Thus facing ambiguity amongst visitors/new /existing students.
University wanted to have a medium which can be best utilized making their data info visible to the masses.
Communicating all the information which a visitor/students who are in/out of the campus, wants to know is not that easy through manual intervention or non-interactive kiosk, considering large crowd is there. They wanted to have a all-in-one kind of interactive system, and that too in multiple areas/departments, to address the same.
It is a problem faced especially by new visitors/parents. They don’t get information about nearby areas which could be a potential medium of tourism and can boost revenue of accomodation, cab services and food area etc. nearby.
When counselling happens, students visit alongwith their family and guardians. The entire process is time-taking which makes the people accompanying students bored. To create interest and awareness about the University, they are required to have a medium which they can use during their spare time. Not only that, it should be an effective information-giving medium.
